Meet the team - Jonathan

Introducing Jonathan, the Procurement manager here at Spaceforme.

Hey! Can you tell us a little bit about who you are and your job role here at Spaceforme?

Hey, I’m Jonathan I’ve been with Spaceforme for around 9 years For the first 4 years I worked on the sales team, when it was 3 of us in the office (now 7!).

I now work on the procurement side of Spaceforme keeping our supply chain stable, along with working on new exciting products and projects.

What’s your favourite thing about working here?

I’ve been fortunate to see the company grow over the years and have also played a key role in many of the changes that have occurred, from modernizing our internal systems to our most recent site move and numerous things in between! While everything we’ve done has had its challenges, the overall payoff has certainly been worth it. The 4 day working week that we do is pretty sweet too.

Who is your biggest inspiration? Why?

Probably my parents, from a young age they always pushed me to do more than I would’ve sought out to do myself (which at the time I was not a fan of!) Looking back I think these small pushes have heavily influenced how I’ve turned out.

How would your colleagues describe you?

When writing this post I was told to make it wacky…I’m not sure if this might be a hint to how they describe me or what! If you ask Geoff this question, he will go on about how I think cows should have chairs so they are more comfortable, I basically just wanted to get a cow to sit on an en-one and see what happens.

After typing this out I think wacky is very appropriate….

If you could invite 3 people to a dinner party, who would they be and why?

Jen (my fiancée) my mum & dad (I would also sneak our cat Nick in). Jen never met my mum so it would be nice to see them together 😊

Nick the cat⬆️

What is your current obsession?

Pretty much anything when I get into it which has led me down some crazy routes, I once spent months researching astrophotography and subsequently spent many cold evenings in the winter months taking images of stars & planets.

Other than that, I’ve developed a genuine interest in furniture design. When I first joined “the chair world” a chair was a chair, but now with the years of knowledge behind me, I could be sitting in a pub and if I spy a chair I haven’t seen before I will be all over it – my colleagues have regularly received some unwanted chair pics.

Currently though I am planning a wedding with my fiancée Jen so my obsession energy has been directed to weird and wonderful wedding ideas.

How do you fill your spare time?

I like a good walk (often to get coffee) along with a bit of gaming and many attempts at DIY related house projects.

How many cups of tea/coffee do you have in a day? We wont judge – promise!

1 or 2 black coffees a day. If Coffee King stopped outside the office more this might increase though I’m still obsessed with the Mocha from there. (Chloe you might as well tag them!)

What is your proudest achievement?

Proposing to my fiancé in Bath.

If you had to enter any competition, knowing that you would come first, what would you enter?

Omaze house giveaway. 3.5mil house in Caldy yes please.
