Meet the team - James

Introducing James, one of the BD team here at Spaceforme.

Hey! Can you tell us a little bit about who you are and your job role here at Spaceforme?

Hi, my name is James, and my role is Business Development at Spaceforme.

Day-to-day is researching, calling and following up leads, as well as having meetings with our customers and delivering samples when they are needed.

Can’t forget to mention my weekly post every Friday, either…

What’s your favourite thing about working here?

I know it sounds cliché, but I would have to say the people. We’ve got a fantastic team, and work with some brilliant resellers.

Who is your biggest inspiration? Why?

My biggest inspirations would be my parents. They have been working hard constantly for as long as I can remember – even a day at the beach often included them taking calls from resellers. Seeing how they have grown the company from only selling our zlite folding chairs to having a full range of products and a great team motivates me to push myself further.

How would your colleagues describe you?

This was one for them to answer...

"Passionate about products + the company – gets involved in lots of videos, creating resources for the team and doing Friday LinkedIn posts."

If you could invite 3 people to a dinner party, who would they be and why?

My Great Granny, Grandpa and Granny. It’s always interesting with them around, and we would definitely have some great games of Phase10, and lots of homemade cakes – what’s not to love?

What is your current obsession?

I wouldn’t say I am particularly ‘obsessed’ with anything, so I asked my colleagues...

Turns out my current obsessions are chicken wraps (particularly from Aprils - a café near work) and the gym at work - Guilty as charged.

How do you fill your spare time?

Mainly socializing with friends over the weekend – anything from off-roading to visiting Liverpool One and having people in.

How many cups of tea/coffee do you have in a day? We wont judge – promise!

Editors’ note: He more than makes up for it with the amount of Pepsi Max he drinks…

What is your proudest achievement?

My 5,000 word EPQ essay on Mental Health in Policing.

It was a really interesting topic, and I was able to get two primary source interviews - one with a Detective Chief Superintendent after I met him whilst swimming at the beach!

If you had to enter any competition, knowing that you would come first, what would you enter?

SAS Selection, because it would be interesting to see how far I can be pushed mentally and physically.
