Don't get spooked by exam season👻

Writer: Spaceforme GroupSpaceforme Group

The first exam season of the academic year is fast approaching... but don't let it creep up on you!

Take a look at our top tips for creating an exam hall that encourages productivity.

  1. Keep noise at bay

Candidates will need an area in which they can focus when sitting exams, it can be easy for external noise to creep inside, especially in older buildings. Consider utilising different areas of the building than usual for exam spaces, such as basements or rooms away from busy roads.

  2. Ensure regulations are met

UK regulations state that there must be a minimum of 1.25 metres of space between the centre of each candidate from all directions to avoid intentional (and unintentional) overlooking of peers' work. When deciding where to host exams ensure that the room is big enough for the desks to fit within these regulations. Use our classroom designer to plan your exam halls perfectly.

  3. Candidate comfort

A peaceful venue allows students to concentrate, but uncomfortable furniture can be one of the biggest causes of distraction. Our exam tables have a sloped top which helps with ergonomics and our en one chairs are the perfect multi-use chair, super stackable and easy to transport, they can be taken from classrooms to exam halls with ease.

  4. Visible clocks

Although candidates will likely wear a watch to their exams, it is still important to ensure each candidate has a clear view of a clock to allow them to keep track of time and complete their exam papers without rushing. This is an essential requirement for exam boards, but it is good practice to set mock exams up in the same way to get candidates accustomed to the setup and etiquette of exams.

We hold great stock levels of exam desks and chairs during this season, so don't hesitate to reach out to be directed to your nearest local reseller of the UK's favourite zlite range.
