Case Study - London Academy of Excellence, Tottenham.

At Spaceforme, we are excited to have our furniture used in amazing schools across the globe, such as the London Academy of Excellence in Tottenham.

This project was completed just over 7 years ago (2017/2018), so we wanted to check in with Paul Martin, Business Director at the school, to gather feedback and see how the school had changed since this project.

1. What were the primary needs and goals when purchasing furniture?

"Functionality, aesthetics, durability and cost."

2. How did Spaceforme products align with these needs and goals?

"The Spaceforme chairs we’ve purchased met all our requirements. They’re a really durable chair that looks good and is affordable. It ticks all the boxes."

3. What were the main challenges you faced regarding furniture?

"In general the basic school chairs of old looked pretty terrible, what you might describe as ‘cheap and nasty’. Our school was originally fitted out by the DfE with really high end furniture which was expensive and which we couldn’t afford to buy more of when we expanded and that left us with a dilemma."

"The Spaceforme furniture though was a great recommendation from a supplier as it looked as good as the really expensive furniture, was as durable but was affordable."

4. Feedback regarding the furniture; How has it held up? Was this your first time using Spaceforme products, if so, would you purchase again?

"We’ve been buying these same chairs since 2018 and at regular intervals since. They’ve lasted so well that you can’t tell the difference between the ones purchased 7 years ago and the ones just delivered."

5. What impact has this project had on the atmosphere of the school, how has it helped to create a more productive learning environment?

"They fit in well with the professional and office like style of our school and they’re comfortable for students to use. I also really like that students are dissuaded by the design from leaning back and swinging on the chairs!"
